Sounds like head gasket or EGR cooler.

Is their anyway of testing the egr cooler?

 

If you go on YouTube there’s some tutorials.

 

No flow through the return pipe usually points to water pump.

 

if its getting that high then its worth checking to see why the cooling fan isnt working aswell.
as mentioned by andy...water pump sounds suspect.
may be worth doing a gas check leak on the cooling system just to be sure there arent exhaust gases present there.

 

Ran the car for over an hour all seemed to be working fine. Water returning to coolant tank and everything. So took it for a drive. 500 yards down the road the car cut out. Now it won't turn over!

 

Won’t turnover as in flat battery or seized engine ?

 

Turns over now but won't start. Honing to have a look at it this morning

 

Hey.

So had the car looked at and water pump had seized causing cam belt to be stripped knocking camshaft out.

Had the car back after having it done to drive 3 miles then service vehicle soon message and a loud grunting engine with lacking power

Any ideas?

 

Needs to go back to the garage that did the work immediately.

 

Yeah I guessed as much. Just hoping it was an unrelated easy fix as had drove about 10 miles with it ok

 

Might be something simple but has they’ve just done the work it’s best they have the chance to rectify any mistakes.
All too often just lately , some owners take their car elsewhere then complain about the garage that did the work in the first instance which is unfair on the garage.
Mechanics are only human & modern motors crammed full of wiring & pipes , it’s easy to miss connecting something back up after doing a job on the engine.
