My Engine Management Light appeared on my dashboard a couple of weeks ago so I decided to get an OBD reader to try and establish what the issue was. The code P0400 appeared which led me to believe that something was wrong with the EGR Valve itself. I've admittedly got barely any experience with car maintenance so once I saw where the valve was located I took it to my local garage to be replaced, hoping it would solve the issue.
With the valve replaced I set off from the garage and managed to get home without the management light reappearing. When I started the car later on, the light appeared again. Using the OBD I looked for the fault code again, fully expecting it to be the same code (P0400). This time though the fault code P0403 appeared. I've trawled through forums online trying to find a fix for this specific fault code but, like with the P0400 code, there seems to be a multitude of different things that could be causing the issue in the EGR Circuit.
Obviously I could take the car to the garage for a more in-depth diagnostic, but that would defeat the purpose of buying the fault reader in the first place. Does anybody know of any specific fault on this type of car that seems to occur more often that not? Any help would be great.
