Z12XE: Timing Chain Replacement Interval?

When should I change the timing chain?
Is it just when it becomes rattly?

I've had no idea if it's been changed before. It's done 80k miles and the car is 15 years old. Would you recommend a change anytime soon?

There is no replacement interval, its as you say when it gets rattly, its usually noticeable on first start up in the morning and when the engine is up to running temperature, the best way to maintain it is regular oil and filter changes.
