Hi all,

I have had this fault pop up, along with check injection on the dash display. I have plugged the code reader in and I can see the MAF rise and fall nicely with revs.

I have noticed that the fault will appear when the key is in 2nd position (van obviously not started).

I have the 4 wire sensor (continental 5wk97020) which I have been able to measure unplugged 5v,0v,12v,5v left to right looking at the pins with the tab facing upwards.

When plugged back into the sensor the voltages change to 2.5v,0v,12v,2.8v when in second position.

I have tried cleaning the sensor with airflow sensor cleaner but can only really see the what I believe is the temperature sensor.

When I unplug the senor I get P0102 and also another that I forgot to note, relating to temperature sensor out of range.

The van appears to be running fine, and if I clear the fault and restart after a drive it doesn't seem to come back on until cold again - only done this twice so may be a red-herring.

Any help on other check's before i look at getting another sensor would be greatly appreciated. I know that these are prone to wiring faults but cannot find any diagrams on the internet.

I have but this problem has only appeared the last few days so have not had much time to look into it.

I have gone to the van this morning, I turned it into 2nd position and have had the "check injection" message on the dash. The code reader hasn't picked up the fault like it has done.

I tried replicating it a few more time and nothing....

I started the van and have monitored the MAF reading against rev's and they seem to rise and fall with each other nicely.

This is the only time it hasn't shown the fault code.
Clearing the code does remove the fault, and mostly it will stay away until i try again a few hours later.

Just had another quick look, it appears that I get a reading of 4.58 on that MAF sensor when key in second position(engine off) , this is also the same value when unplugged.

The Codes when unplugged were P0102 and P0113( Intake air temp high)

The confusing part is on the freeze frame data when the fault occurs (P0102) it is showing that the MAF sensor is reading 0 again with the engine off.

I am guessing that the MAF should be reading 0 or close to 0 when in 2nd position and the engine off because of no air flow, and with the sensor unplugged I would guess the value should change from 4.58. If so I think I need to look into the wiring?
