Need help !!

The wife's corsa just failed mot on emissions..

Heres the faults.
•Engine Mil inoperative or indicates a malfunction [ 8.2.1.2 (h) ]

•Exhaust lamda reading after 2nd fast idle specified limits [ 8.2.1.2 (c) ]

Heres a bit of extra info.
We bought the car a few months back . On the way home after buying we noticed the management light come on but the car drove fine..
My cheep tester said bank 1 lambda on the manifold.. the lamda sensor did look new but almost cirtainly a cheep after market as the wires were far to long..

Anyway we bought the original vauxhall landa sensor from vauxhall ( not cheep at over £200)
,reset the management light and it did sort of do the trick.. ( no light reappearing atleast) but it started to drive with a flatspot which it didn't have before with the cheep after matket sensor, ( which would drive fine without a lack of power but the light would reappear within 10 minutes of resetting) .

The new landa sensor the light doesn't show on the dash but a lack of power in low revs but roughly im guessing after 2K revs the car picks up with great acceleration.

So whats your feelings on what i can do/check ect??
Thank you everyone if you can help

Did you get a emissions readout? Is the lambda reading high or low if its high it means the lambda is picking up to much oxygen in the exhaust, if the reading is low its running rich to much fuel.

If you had opcom you could see what your fuel trims, maf readings are doing and help narrow it down, i would say it sounds like a mass air flow sensor problem, had the same with 1.2 amd 1.8 corsa c once flat spots and random emissions codes and again the 1.2 failed an mot on lamda reading, maf sorted it power back and eml stayed off and trims returned to normal.
They didn't give my wife a readout or printout sadly so i can't say if high or low reading..

Some one suggested that it might have a small leak in the exhaust which it has come up as an advisory but its the rear of the exhaust..
Could that still be an issue in your opinion?

UP DATE :

Ive just discovered ive got 2 fault codes , p0135 and p0130.
I think its bank 1 lamda sensor.. the bank 1 is brand new direct from vauxhall so im assuming its not the sensor its self, any thoughts anyone?"" )))

i just rang the mot centre and they said that it was only just over The fail limit, so it was 1.2 reading from the system. It fails above 1.0 ... the leak was near the mid section of exhaust on a joint..

You need to ask for print out, they must give you a copy by dvsa rules.

Latest update...no,2)

I changed exhaust that was leaking atleast.. not sure if its cured it to be frank but its hard to say for sure as i don't have the equipment to test emissions..
Ok, so i Took the car for a drive and it was fine for the 1st 2 mins of driving and then after it started to drive as if it were hesitant to drive up in revs ,at this point it was in 2nd gear but due to it hesitantly driving ( not qute like a missfire ill add) and not gaining speed, it wouldn't have gone into 3rd gear going up a slight hill where normally the car has no trouble pulling up that hill in 3 or 4th gear. it only lasted 20 seconds not really longer though,.. took it for a longer drive though and it was totally fine after that 20 seconds of hesitation..
Could it be a possibility something to do with the thermostat ?

Only thing on the coolant side is if you have a faulty temp sensor but that would log a code and make it run rich.

Unplug your maf and take it for a ride, see if the power is back.

With out a fault reader or at least some live data its hard to help you, i can only go on my experience with this problem and what I did to sort the problem.
The fault codes were p0135 and p0130.. but these codes only appeared when the car was taken for ots mot

Latest update,
The original vauxhall sensor which i bought and installed 3 weeks back has been found to be tge problem for the emissions fail of mot.
The mot station tried a new ntk lambda sensor and the emissions past..

The only bit to add is after they issued us with the new mot,got stuck in bumper to bumper trafic for 15 mins on home the way home and the management light came up again with the same fault codes ( p0135 and p0130) so its not happy with the new sensor still.. perhaps it needs a good drive to clean it up inside as with the very newest sensor its only had about 10 miles through it..
Though ill add the car drives fine where the engine did have a a lunpy 30 seconds of running soon after pulling off..
That though doesn't seem to be the case now..

This will get confusing if you sre running duplicate threads.

I've just replied to your other one:

Thanks.. i felt like i could be saving other corsa d drivers money and frustration so i wanted to make this dedicated title rather than a passing comment within the many comments aleady deap in the forum and not a direct coalition to my original..
Sorry if it appears im crowding the new status' though..
Thanks for replying too. Much appreciated
