2012 Ecoflex 2.0CDTI Insignia

Help!, Passenger window went down but wouldn't go back up, totally dead.

The initial symptoms were, the passenger window went down and would not go back up, the door was closed at the time. The courtesy light was flickering erratically, the door ajar chime was chiming away and the DIS was displaying it thought the door was open. It all went quiet after about a minute and has not worked since door ajar does not chime when you open the passenger side but does on the driver's side. Its currently wedged up in the closed position so I can use the car.

I have tried a used window regulator and door lock, I have checked the connector the A post for corrosion and the wiring in the rubber gaiter for fractures. I have also borrowed a good power window switch (passenger side) just in case.

Could this be a BCM failure or maybe the driver's door window switch, I've heard of a case where the driver's door, passenger window switch failed and made the whole passenger side window operation inoperative.

Using the power of google I found this, but the driver's side is fine, or does the CAN bus link from the driver's motor?

Alternator output 14.85 (idle)
Battery Life (68%) According to Vaux-Com

I would be grateful for any input or direction.

Maybe you have a faulty door lock micro switch which is then dragging the CANBUS system down in that door?

Thanks for the reply, Koicarpkeeper

I replaced the door lock from a 2016 model insignia yesterday as I could not find a micro-switch anywhere else and suspected it was part of the lock. Apart from the door wiring loom I pretty much replaced everything in that door except for the switch, that I ruled out by borrowing a known good one.

UPDATE: Power Window Fixed and Working:)

I think I may have gone off totally looking in the wrong direction looking for LIN Bus problems and should have started with good old power and earth problems. I did buy a manual to help identify the data connection to the window motor to check if the voltage and ohms were within limits.

So I checked the earth, fine resistance as specified in the manual. Live feed to the motor and found no voltage when the ignition was on and no continuity between the A Post connector plug. So i stripped the loom sheath off all the way to the window motor and found the live wire had possibly rubbed on something and then corroded completely - green corrosion on the feed wire.

Spliced and waterproofed the connection and works perfectly, will check and clear the codes tomorrow to see if anything comes back.

Not sure about [B2615-02 Passenger Dimming Circuit 2 - Short to Ground]

I will check tomorrow and update.
