Throttle position sensor?

Hi all,
New to the site and this is my first post but, I really hope someone can help me. I have a 2008 1.3cdti Corsa. A few weeks ago while I was driving it slammed into limp mode and the electronic warning light came on. Local garage only had limited software and was told to take it to Vauxhall as their computer said replace ECU. Second garage diagnosed ECU but the accelerator was mentioned. My mechanic (AKA Dad!) took the ECU out and cleaned it up, replaced it and the car is now going however, when you take your foot off the accelerator the battery light flashes on. Any ideas what could be at fault, spoke about replacing the throttle position sensor but worry it could be the alternator???
Thanks in advance for your help.

Do you know what the code was you were getting for the pedal? These models are prone to ECU faults due to water ingress, they may last a while if you remove them and dry them out though. As for the battery light it could be linked to ECU but they are prone to alternator probs too. Should be easily checked with a multimeter.

Thanks
I'm pretty sure it was water that caused the ECU to malfunction, I'd driven through some wild weather just before it went. Not sure what code came up but the boy that diagnosed it said it was the throttle position sensor BUT it only flashed up once and he couldn't get it to register again. Will get the alternator checked tomorrow...really hope its something simple like that, flaming cars costing me a fortune!

Having never worked on a Corsa D (which is what yours is) I dont know if the layout is similar to the Astra H and Zafira B but I would guess it will be similar as they all came out at roughly the same time.

If so then the Astra H and Zafira B have a problem with water ingress in to the UEC (Underhood Electrical Centre) or Fues Box to most People and NOT the ECU. The most common fault that shows up is Throttle Pedal Problems although other daft faults may also show up at times as well.

If its the same layout ast the Astra H and Zafira B then here is a 'How to' with photos on how to remove, clean and dry the UEC, it might be worth a try. Lonk here: http://www.vauxhallownersnetwork.co...co.uk/index.php?threads/how-to-remove-and-clean-uec-on-astra-h-zafira-b.371985/

Thanks all for your help
I have the car back and have driven 64 miles today with no problem so the ECU seems to be holding its own, multimeter read at 0.14 and the UEC has been checked and shows no sign of moisture or corrosion HOWEVER, if you rev the car whilst idling the battery light flashes on and off when the revs drop down past the 1000, similarly it can do it when approaching a junction but tbh I only saw the light twice when I was driving. Anybody any ideas I'd hate to think its a sign that something else is going to go!
