evening all .
well decided this evening to do the inlet manifold gaskets as advised after brake cleaner test 'as car failed mot on emissions ,
all went great torqued and fuel lines back on . problem now is non starter . when trying engine is shaking and will not start , checked with opcom and fault code P1220A critical malfunction 1 , car was running but hunted at tickover hence the new gaskets , now wont even start ,filled the fuel filter but no joy, tried easy start as last resort and ran for few seconds but wont rev then dies , checked and all injectors had good fuel coming out ,had the fuel pump repaired about 6 months ago and apart from hunting it ran great ,
everything went back as it should so wasnt expecting any problems .
looked a 1220 code but nothing on 1220A ,
appriciate any ideas

Give us a clue, what car and engine is it?

Thanks for the reply .
I'm hoping it's not the ECU ?
Always seem to have a problem whenever I disconnect the crank sensor .
Think the rough idle was caused by the leaking inlet manifold as did the brake cleaner test as advised on here and found it to be leaking . I have been driving the car daily and apart from hunting at tick over it still drove great
Going to try another crank sensor I have just in case but don't hold out much hope .
Thanks Dave

Well changed the crank sensor and car started and run .
Snap on states no codes present .
But it's still hunting .
Sprayed brake cleaner all around manifold . injector pipes and leak off pipes and no difference in running .but it's still hunting .
Any ideas what else to check ?
Thanks.

I don't think this engine has one, it's not a common rail engine if I remember correctly.
Isn't the ECU built into the injector pump on these?
