M32 gearbox bearings changed - linkage reset ?

I had the bearings replaced on my m32 box last week, although the box whined quite abit the bearings were not that bad at all apart from a little scoring, all quiet now. What I am noticing now is intermittent and only happens sometimes, when I put the clutch down and engage first gear I can hear / feel a "clunk" which also happens when going from first to second gear. This has only happened since the bearings have been changed. Granted I have always had a "clunk" when engaging reverse as you would do with most cars but now the "clunk" which I get in first and second feels exactly as it does when engaging reverse. Could this be a simple reset of the gear linkage due to things being moved in the box etc ? If so can someone please explain as to how this is done ? I know how to do it with a mechanical linkage but never seen it done with a cable linkage.

Cheers

Have a look on my website. There's a guide on there for an Insignia. Signum is largely the same except for the way the gear lever gets locked.

Doesn't sound like the usual linkage issues but definitely worth doing first

Gears being stiff or difficult to select. Mainly 1st, 2nd & reverse. Sometimes you will get reverse instead of first and reverse is impossible to select. A reset of the linkage isn't always necessary but sometimes needs done. If there's no issues with selecting gears then there's no point adjusting it
