Whilst I'm driving sometimes, the low oil level warning light comes on and stays on until I finish my journey. I've checked the oil level before and after a journey, and it is between the min and max level, closer to the max level so the oil isn't low. I've only recently serviced the car (2/3 months ago) and had the oil replaced with the GM 5w-30 oil, so I don't think it's because the oil has become old and lumpy. I usually get this warning light soon before I'm due a service (after about 10 months and/or up to 5000 miles).
Any ideas on what may be causing this?
Not sure if it makes a difference, but my zafira has developed the infamous knocking noise aka diesel engine noise when the car is idle. This noise started before I serviced it and it comes on occasionally. Some garages tell me it's normal, others aren't too sure. Just mentioning this in case this has anything to contribute to identifying the problem
