my vectra 2.0 dti has a very dsitinct hissing sound, seems to be coming around the turbo side/exhaust down pipe, any suggestions what it is,cant see any leaks and defo no boost leak, really annoying as its a loud very easily heard in the car, increases as the revs increase, bit like turbo spoolong up but much louder

will have to try and get a gasket made, this will be the third time taking off the manifold to seperate the turbo, will try and seperate it whilst its still attached to head
was thinking of using a thin amount of paste but i see your point

If you can find some shim thats about 20 thou thick, then using card or paper mark out the pattern of the joint, mark it onto the shim and cut it out im sure this would make a suitable gasket

Hi i have just looked on EPC there is a gasket between the turbo and the exhaust manifold i can send you a pic if you like but its easier to go to your local VX parts and get one

Hi the y20dth has a gasket - part number 9226144 -ÂŁ1.24
the x20dth and x20dtl have a paste compound specialy designed for this job -ÂŁ16.82 (the x20dtl has no intercooler)
to fit both the front pipe should be removed - gasket number 90500695-ÂŁ4.11
Why either of these dealers couldn't explain about the paste and gaskets i don't know
regards
Steve
