heater fan not working at all

My wifes 99 astra has heater blower fan just packed up. no air con on the car. The dial moves and clicks correctly but the motor refuses to spin. Engine seems ok and there is no loss of coolant. No airlock as was working fine before.
Checked Fuses all seems OK.. Not sure which is the correct relay

I Started to take the central console out to get at heater controls as they seem to move back a lot when pushed. Stopped when got to cold. Its a bit parky out there. I will check the blower switch connections tomorrow.
Is there anything else to check?

Other threads I have found mention the resistor BUT all talk about one speed working not zero!

When mine went it was a small unit. If you lift the bonnet then the grill near the screen wipers then the pollon filter you can see the relay there. It's a main dealer part about 30 pounds all the best

drove it this morning and when did some fiddling with the switches it started worrking. Have to take it right apart to find the dodgy connection

Drove it this morning andwhilst fiddling with switches etc the blower started working.

Took it further apart tonight and found this on the main wiring plug

Thoughts on what is causing the short overheating anyone?

The left hand side of the heater control lighting dims intermittently when the heater controls are used Light tapping of the unit brings the light back on.

Looks as if you are going to need another heater unit. semms as if the printed circuit is duff.

I can replace the heater control unit. how do I replace the cable and connector?

Also looking at the wiring diagram I best replace the resistor block as well.....?

You don't replace the cable as such but cut off the plug and fit terminal connectors to the wires and refit.

Make a diagram of which wire goes were first.
