Did you try your glow plugs first, it is very common for Number 3 to short out, which will give you your code. Dont just check number 3 though check them all. i take it its a corsa-c?

 

ye it is a corsa c. have already brought the part can you advise where it lives inside this corsa at all

The glow plug module is located to the front of the enigine compartment on the right hand side. You will see a black fuse box next to the ECU, take the cover off and squeezed between the fuse box and the wing is the module. I am just about to change mine and it does'nt look much fun!

hello there. I also have p0683 fault. mnaged to cure first one by replacing brake light switch now spanner light still comes on an goes . with regard to glow plug number three which one is it and what am I looking for to spot a short circuit?

Did you manage to resolve Po683? Have same problem and have replaced all glow plugs but spanner light still coming on. Any tips appreciated.

1.3 cdti 04 corsa error code p0683 + eml

Hi all, sorry just new to this and dont know how to start a new tread.

I have a 1.3 cdti corsa 2004 and this past 2 weeks i have been having trouble starting it in the mornings. Once its started it will usually start again but if i leave it over night i have the same problem trying to start it. The EML light has also been coming on and off over the duration of the 2 weeks aswel.

I brought to a mechanic who put it on the dignostics and got the error code0683
which is the glow plug control module. He checked the glow plugs and told me they were all fine.

I have since bought a relay and have had it fitted and the next day after this was fitted the car started straight away, but the following morning same problem all over again plus the EML light came on again. so i feel as though im back to square one.

Can anyone please give me some insight into this please as its really getting me down.
