Hi all, I have a dash cam to fit and just want advice on which fuse to use . It has a parking feature which activates the cam when parked and locked. So, which fuse is best to piggy back? I’m looking to use the fuse board in the glove box.

I think I read somewhere that 6&7 could be used, one of which is the Cig lighter I think .

Your advice is much appreciated, as I’m a complete novice when it comes to electrics.

Thank you

Any luck with this mate?
I’m going through the same process now with Road Angel Halo Pro.
The hard wiring kit says VCC should be constant live and ACC should be ignition live

I’ve currently got both in 6&7(front and back cig lighters)…like you had…but as these both work ok ignition the camera turns off when parked.

I’m thinking leave red ACC in 7 and yellow VCC goes into 16 (central locking)? I’m a bit weary of disconnecting the central locking system though?

many tips? Thanks

Not sure/ hope this will help someone.

I’ve got an Insignia 2016 SRi VX-Line 2.0.

I’ve hardwired my Road Angel Halo Pro which has parking mode.

I initially used fuses 6 & 7 which are the power outputs (cigarette outlets). These are ignition power, so dash cam only worked when ignition turned on.

we tested the fuses with a cheap multi metre from halfords to see which fuses were live when engine off and keys out of ignition.

fuse 24 gave a reading whilst the ignition was off, so we piggy backed the VCC power cable (yellow - constant live) and left the ACC power cable (red - ignition live) piggy backing fuse 6.

So far, I’ve only left it a few hours and gone back to it and it seems to be working and recording. The device has switched to parking mode which is indicated by the red flashing light on the front of the device.

one thing to note, I had to change the settings of the battery protection (via the dash cam app) down to 11.8V as the voltage was dropping just below 12V and causing the cam to shut off to save the battery. Since changing the setting to 11.8V it seems to stay active in parking mode.

my mechanic also tells me fuse 20 is also a constant live. The multi metre also reflected this.

I hope this may avoid someone the hours of searching through forums like I had to l o l

I got the ATS fuse connectors from ebay.
Fits well on the Insignia. Also used 5amp fuse for the dashcam as suggested by Viofo tech support.
When holding the fuse connector as shown in the image below. The 5amp dashcam fuse should go in the top spot and the existing fuse which you pulled out to piggyback should go on the bottom.
Also orientation is key. Check with a multimeter which side gets power on your fuse box.
The left pin is the one which should get power.

You can pullout a fuse from your Grandland and compare with the image above.. I think its going to be the same as Insignia.
