There should be a plug on the radiator fan cowling that supplies the fan resistor pack, has anyone checked you have power at Pin 2 of this plug when the low speed fan is activated using the output test, if you have power here then the radiator fan resistor pack has probably failed.

 

Hi, thanks for a quick reply, I have replaced the radiator fan resistor months ago as fan was only kicking in at 106 degrees (really loud speed). Are you saying I should be checking for voltage on the pin 2 when the car will normally have the first fan speed activated?

Yes, you should have power at that pin when the fan should be running, you could also check if you have power at the relay for speed 1, this is relay K30a, pull the relay and check you have power at pins 30 and 86, if you have then bridge pins 30 and 87 and see what power you get at pin 2 of the resistor plug.
