Look at the fluid reservoir on top of the brake master cylinder and you will see that there is a pipe coming out of it (right hand side as you stand looking at the engine) the pipe supplies the clutch master cylinder with fluid which in turn pumps fluid to the clutch slave cylinder when you press the clutch pedal. Check the level of the fluid in the reservoir is above the level of the pipe, look for leaking fluid on the clutch pedal(master cylinder) follow the pipe from there to where it is fitted to the clutch housing and look for leaks there and finally look under the car and see if there is any fluid leaking from the lowest point where the clutch housing is bolted to the engine. If you find a leak at that point (under the car) then the clutch slave cylinder is f--k-d and it will be a gearbox removal job to have it fixed.

It will be the black pipe coming from the side of the reservoir .You wont need to push the clutch pedal just make sure that the level of fluid in the reservoir is above the level of the black pipe. If the level has dropped below the lowest part of the pipe connection you must have a leak somewhere in the system.

Hi sween, normally when the slave cylinder goes hyd fluid leaks from the bottom of the gearbox where it mates with the engine. I'm afraid its a gearbox off job to replace. however have a check around the 'tophat', its on the top of the box where the hyd pipe enters the box. This can leak and the seals can be replaced with the box on.
If you do have a slave leak check the clutch plate for contamination. If your cars done 80K plus and you are looking at keeping it would be an idea to change the clutch assy.
