I don't believe you can , the security code is on a small credit card size of paper in the folder that comes with car, if you don't have this then you need to contact Vauxhall and pay a small fortune for it

 

You've more chance of contacting Jesus than getting a security code from a vec c using opcom! Carprog will do it, what are you trying to do?

Want to program/synchronize a key using my OpCom, but can't find my security wallet/code

 

Car pass from Vx is about £25. Also need V5c (log book) and ID like passport/driving license. Takes a few days to get.

If I was to get the code, is programming/syncing a key using OpCom pretty straight forward to do?

It is mate, is it an old key? Or new? Opcom has buttons for both anyway.

Only Vx dealers can supply Car Pass.... supposedly.
But http://www.cheshireautolocksmiths.com/tag/vauxhall-security-pass/ say they can...

The proper car pass should list: VIN, Radio Code, CD Code, Key Code & Immobilizer Code. Immob & Radio may be same code...

 

Immob and radio are different codes @MikeSW17, as I said you may find someone in you're area who has other capable tools.

 

@stevek28, Must just be mine then, by chance the two codes are the same on my car pass.

If you get stuck and cant get the code from Vauxhall, we can extract the code from your display or radio, (provided they are the original units)

 

@Automods, why would it matter if its original or not? You're extracting direct from the back of the clocks so it can not possibly end up being the wrong code.

 

I was talking about the radio display, and if the radio has been changed for example to a CD30 MP3 and instead of having the radio coded they swapped the radio and display as a pair, then the security code will not match the car

 

if however the display is original, they only cost a couple of £ to post, and the overal cost is less than half the cost of the car pass from Vauxhall

 

Just a small update...

I popped into my local Vauxhall garage (Evans Halshaw) to ask about getting my security code recovered, it's £33.60, they take a copy of your logbook and driving license, send it off to the police, after a few days if all is ok, then they send you a new security pass wallet.

So I'll give it a go, thanks everyone again for your advice.
I might be back if I can't work out how to re-program my key!

 

That's not too bad, shame your not local though as we could have done it for a fraction of that price.

 

Can we do it over the phone? What do you need? The serial number of the radio?
Is it easy to get out?

Nope, sorry, I need the display or the radio as I have to read the data out of the chip inside.

 

If you check stamp in service book of supplying dealer,give them a ring they should have all security data ie radio code,immobiliser code and key number on file.
That is they haven't closed down,which seem to be a lot these days.

You legend! Yes i called them up and in a very quick phone call, i gave the first garage to service the car my reg and he instantly gave me my security code! And it's correct too, opcom accepts it! Fantastic, thanks.

Now... I had a quick play with trying to get my key working and I'm having no luck.
So the key will start the engine, but will not remotely open the central locking.
I've tried the trick of putting the key on, turning it on upto ignition point, holding down the lock button, but it doesn't do anything.
The key (and battery) are definitely sending a signal out, as a local shop that changes batteries for you have a signal receiving checker.

What do i need to do please clever people?
I see an option in OpCom, within the immobiliser programming part to delete transponder keys, do i need to do this? Bit scared of what it will do!
I thought the programming part was to sync the key to the immobiliser? Which i don't think i need to do as the key does start the engine, it's just the remote central locking i want to get working.

Now I'm sure on vectra c that when you programe the key in CIM,it programes both parts of the key at the same time,so imobilizer part and central locking part,so if the key starts the car it sould also open the car?now someone will correct me if I'm wrong as it's been a while since I've done one.
So what I'm saying is if you have a key already that opens and starts the car and the other key starts the car and is programmed but won't operate central locking then there is a problem with the key its self.does that make sense?ha

 

OK yeah kind of makes sense, so perhaps something wrong with the key then?

So if i go out and buy a brand new key (the flip out ones for example), then will i need to do 2 things?
1. - Put it in the ignition, turn on and press a button to sync it with the remote locking, and;
2. - Use OpCom to sync it to the immobiliser?

I've never used opcom stu my mate,but if I get a brand new key putting in ignition and pressing buttons will do nothing.
I use tech 2,so would go in to CIM module,in to programming then in to programme new transponder and remote,then will ask me for security code (four digit) then it will programe up and work.im sure opcom has the same procedure .
That's what I mean about the programming of a vectra c key it does both procedures of immobilizer and central locking at the same time ,where as my Astra g for example I would go in to immobiliser to programe key,then go in to Central locking and program the remote.

 

If your other key works central locking and starts the car stu and the other key starts the car but won't open central locking then I would say it's a faulty key yes.

I have tried the 2 programming keys options, one is for New key and the other for Old key, but they both fail and i don't know why.
