Hi all

as i've been declared a Wheel Whoar by most other forums i'm active on, it seems fitting that as a Vauxhall Vivaro and Movano owner, i should do some experimenting with Alloy Wheel options, and display my findings as i go, selling each set as i go to fund the next experiment.

as some of you will have known, i've already done a number of wheel sizes and styles, including 16" so that you can just fit your original van tyres, and 18" for those who would like a more radical rubber change.

I've drawn a line really at 18" diameter, because 19's can drive crap, and start to become weaker in construction and prone to cracks and fractures, both due to using very shallow profile tyres which in turn gives the wheel itself a very hard time. This is true enough when the wheels are used on cars with a GVW of around half of what a Vivaro can legally weigh, so in the interest of safety, ride quality, and reliability, i've decided to max out at 18" which means i can still use a proper tyre that drives spot on.

Heres just a few that i've tried already

Fancy something a little different?

ÂŁ250 ono

I've got two sets of 17" alloys currently in a state of refurbishment, so i'll get onto those once they're ready...

Hi there mighty,

They're 16x7j, offset is 34

I trial fitted them to my Viv, and they were a nice fit, not out the bodywork or anything, and no rubbing either.

The picture of them fitted was with the original bmw car tyres on, so 55 profile if i recall correctly.

Be nice and mean in black!

OK, here are some forthcoming choices.

I have 2 sets more of BMW original alloys, and having done quite a few of the 16" size rims, i've got some 17's to try.

set 1, are the original Beemer part no 109450613, and are 17"x8j width, IS47 offset, centre bore 72.6mm. Typically found of later 5 and 7 series.

set 2, are the original Beemer part no's 2229180, and 2229135, which are 17" x 7.5j width, IS41, and 17"x8.5j width, IS50, respectively, centre bore 72.6mm. These are genuine M sport wheels, mainly from larger engine models 5 and 7 series again i think.

Both sets are pretty scruffy looking at the mo, but are in process of full refurbishment, which will include a complete 100% acid free chemical strip, shotblast, sand and prep, and refinished in powder coat.

I will initially powder coat them gloss black, but i can add a colour to the top of that if required, so if you fancy silver, anthracite, etc or a more adventurous yellow, red, purple etc etc just say so and i can sort out a package price.

If you require any more info, pictures etc, just holla or PM me.

Ok,

her are the two sets that are mentioned above, now refurbished into gloss black powder coat.

This can also be used as a base for further colours, so if you wanted them in a Gold, Silver, Grey, Pink, Blue, Yellow, Red etc etc that can be applied in either powder or paint on top of this to an excellent finish.

and I've just finished these original English Classic FH 500 Compomotives in 15" x 7j, 5 x 120 BMW pcd, and a centre bore of 73mm

Hi ash, how you doing.

Im trying to do the wheels themselves as cheap as possible, because of the refurb costs i incurr, i couldnt really offer much for a px. You'd be better sticking them back on here i reckon, folk are certainly buying at the mo, and yours are a nice style too, one that most would like i think.

As for the black 7 spokes, they're up for 250 on here to fellow members, but probably 300 on ebay starting this evening sometime to help cover the fees.

Same for the M sport 17s too.

A typical full refurb like these have had would normally cost 50 pound per wheel plus vat, so 240 total for a set of four.

I work in the trade, so i do as much as possible myself to get that cost down, so my savings are really just paying for my time, and the wheels are pretty much free! Lol!

If you want a colour, i can do that over the top of the black whilst theyre fresh and new, for not much more.

Any good to you Ash?

Cheers

Here's an interesting one.

One of the sets of 17" alloys i had for sale previously sold to a chap that is making quite an eye opening day van from his Trafic.

The gloss black wasn't showy enough so asked if i could add some bling in the way of a metallic flake or glitter laquer etc.

I had access to this glitter finish within a clear powder coat to keep the durability and quality of the finish, so this is how they ended up!

Very Leary eh!

when the suns on them its like an 80's disco!

These are 19" x 9.5J all round, with a 2.5" lip.

load rated at 695kg per wheel, centre bore just a gnats over 73mm, and stamped as et40

I had them done with the intention of now spin polishing the big lip and dish to exagerate as much as possible, but if anyone would like to take them off my hands as they are, before i do it, then be quick!

I also have some usable tyres too, not new, but legal tread left and a good few miles in them yet.

If they don't sell, i won't mind too much as i'll keep them for myself, so these are ÂŁ599 including the tyres.

Feel free to contact me about dong something with your wheels like this or about others i have in the pipeline!

I can soon change colour!

Funnily enough, my own is silver, and i reckon once the rim is polished theyd look great!

However, I have some lovely 18" in a similar style, not quite as deep a dish but really good looking wheels.

They have a silver grey spoke area, just the polishing to do and laquer in.

Sound like your sort of thing?

I'm in nottinghamshire, always floating round and about the uk with motor racing and hoovering up as many wheels as i can afford! lol!

Whereabouts are you?

i can take some photos of the 18's aswell if you like, i'll have one about ready to show you some point next week i should think?

cheers
