Hi,my 64 plate 27k miles vivaro has been great in the few moths ive had it...but...

3 weeks ago, "bleep" and "battery charging fault"..."stop"...on dash.

Did a multimeter test.....12v on battery....14.4 volts on idle..all is fine

Fitted a brand new battery tho.....all is good for 3 weeks...

Today, same thing..bleep and battery charging fault

Im thinking how can it be the alternator, when its 14v charging when the van is running.?

Gearbox earth strap??..i heard....ive plugged diagnostic in...all clear

Done a search,im sure its a common fault, but no real fixes...anyone have any info?

cheers...phil

NEED MORE HELP PLEASE!

Well....checked all earths....cleaned up gearbox earth...all good.

Still random beep and "battery charging fault" STOP. :-(

So...i disconnected my LED strip lights that ive fitted in the rear of the van for a few days....not a beep at all.

Reconnected them,within a day...beep!....so found the problem.

BUT.....the led strip lights are wired in to the interior lights in the rear cab.....red to re,black to black....all was good but they stayed on whilst driving.

So....changed the wiring to red to red, black to pink....all work fine when opening doors and go off when driving etc..all good....BUT STILL BEEP AND CHARGING FAULT on the dash

Im "guessing" that the led strip lights arent canbus friendly?.....ive looked and cant see to find canbus friendly ones...the ones i have are the 5m strip ones....very bright.

Anyone have any idea what i can do???.....doing my head in now.lol

I really dont want the lights on a switch,i want them to come on/off with the doors....but it keeps throwing errors up.

Any help would be great...thank you!

To add....the beep and warning light is totally random....maybe the body control module is checking the system randomly and finding a fault.

Totally fine for a day, then beep....then lasts 3 days then beep warning again, then can beep 4 times in a day....mad!
