astra j radio reception.

hey guys, i'm having a bit of bother with the radio on my astra.

i have really poor reception, only really able to get radio 1 or classic fm and both of those are crackly.

i've pulled the radio out and checked the connection, the ariel is fine here.

i've taken the ariel off and cleaned the threads up, and reassembled with a spot of copper grease. this improved the reception marginally but still only really get radio 1 clearly, none of my local stations are any good at all.

my van, parked right behind the car, picks up all the local stations fine...

any ideas on where to start looking?

nope, missing fuse!

it seems when the fire department converted it they added another fuse box and a different loom. there's a fusebox that doesn't look entirely oem with a load of missing fuses, one marked 'rear power' stuck a fuse in and radio got a lot better.

but i want dab anyway, so ive also bought this:


so problem solved :D
