Hi there and welcome to the forum,

I guess your oil leak could be from several different places so it would be good to clean thoroughly (maybe with a pray can of engine degreaser) and observe closely to find the source. Sump seal, crankshaft seals, maybe seals at oil cooler or oil filter, or possibly from some seals a bit higher up and making its way down onto and around the sump seal etc.

There was a thread by someone just recently that had a similar oil leak. He thought it wa the sump seal again which he had replaced sometime previously. Oil mmade its way down and was dripping off the transmission. After further inspection he said it turned out to be leaking at the back from a failed head gasket. Hope your's is a simpler problem.

Cheers, Paul

had a better look today it appers to be coming from the seals that are around the injectors on the cam cover. on tick over it did seem to come out at a fast rate so will be getting new ones tommorow and let you know how i get on. thanks
Interesting - I was looking at info for your engine on my old copy of TIS 2000 and having read your comment above I wonder whether oil could be leaking somehow from what is referred to as an "Outer oil leak line", or wherever it connects.

The diagram isn't that great but it does show the outer oil leak line in the area you've mentioned - maybe somebody who knows better could comment...?

added note: weird, I read another bit of info with a better diagram and even though it states that the tubes are "oil leakage tubes" it says that they feed "oil" back to the injector pump - forgive my ignorance but can somebody tell me whether they actually mean "diesel" not "oil"? In other words are these like the equivalent of the diesel return tubes (leak-off tubes) on my old X17DTL, or is this something different? If its just diesel return tubes then astra10 can forget this as a source of his oil leak....
