Hi first post and I'm already asking for help but I'm in a bit of a fix.
I have a 56 astra 1.4 petrol and it's due a timing chain so I'm going to do it but I need a bit of advice and I've spent a long time googling but can't find the answers I need.
First of all what locking tools do I need and where do they go and how do I use them, eBay search brings up quite a few variations but which one do I need?
Also how do I use them/where do they go?
Second there are kits available on eBay fairly cheap but I worry that they might be crap and if so how much is a Vauxhall one and does it come with everything.
I know I have to drop the engine mount, sump and strip all the auxilarys off but does the exhaust have to come off?
Is there any other job worth doing while k
I'm at it and is there anything to be wary off?
Also on a different note I noticed that it's started looking coolant and a long journey can empty the expansion tank but when you release the pressure it all comes back and if you leave the cap loose it doesn't go down at all so does this sound like the cap for expansion tank?
Thanks again for the help I appreciate it.
