Got a notification today -

Offside front macpherson strut has excessive movement at the upper attachment [2.5.A.1c]

Whats this all that about and can I 'do' it myself it's an 03 TDI thing

If its the top mount that is visible from the engine bay this can be replaced by just undoing the nut.

Hi yes its very easy - but it does depend on the bush/mount thats worn- you may need to drop the leg to change the lower ones

you will need a spring compresser to change it.

will be part 5 thats worn.
