Hello there,

The control indicator light for exhaust emmissions has just come on and been on permanently for 2 days now, the car starts and drives fine - should I be worried, what is the worst that could happen if ignored ?

FYI the car is 2001 1.6 petrol and the light isnt flashing which the manual says could damage the cat converter.

not to much permanent damage could be caused i would have thought only being the emmisons light but still needs sorting asap,
being as its been on for 2 days non stop you can pretty much forget that its just a dodgy sensor reading that will go away,
have a quick check if possible that on the very front of the exhaust under the car there is a wire connected to it for the lambada sensor as this has been known to fall off and put the light on, otherwise best bet is to get vauxhall to read the code and then you know what to fix,

lots of people hate going to vauxhall to get the codes read so spend loads changing everything to get out of it, imo go to vauxhall pay your £40 or whatever they rip you off with and leave knowing what the prob is, then take it somewhere else (that you trust) to fix it or come back here with the result and someone will know what to do,
