hi there.first post here.i have a 2001 astravan dti.the oil press light came on whilst driving other day.i suspect the oil pump pulley nut has come loose due to engine noise but dont know exactlty how much damage is done to pulley (come off / cracked).i loosened off the top timing belt cover and i could see the timing belt is loose.how is it poss that the engine can still run when the belt is loose?

will there have been any serious engine wear/damage?
cheers

if the engine is noisey and you drove it with the oil light on you will need a new pump, also there will be a good chance you need a new turbo as these seem to fail if the oil pressure drops,a new turbo from vauxhall is cheap
