A bit too early for the clutch to go, but it obviously depends on the driving style, so not impossible.

The price for the job, a bit too steep in my opinion but I don't know this particular model. Is there anything else to be fixed
Also since it's almost a new car, didn't it come with some sort of warranty or breakdown insurance.
How did it end up in the garage in the first place.
Exact model and engine would be helpful.

You should have some rights to repair on such a new car that you have owned less than six months check this link also kick up a fuss with the finance company they can usually help

It's over a year old, you've owned it for 6 months. They may offer you a goodwill gesture towards the repair if you push for it. You could always try vauxhall customer services too, explain you are unhappy with the fact that a nearly new vauxhall has a failed clutch, are they prepared to cover the cost under warranty?
Clutches are usually a grey area as far as warranty claims go, especially after the first year. I'd expect a clutch to last longer than 9000 miles though.

I've got a mate that kills clutches...rides them constantly on hills and slips them at every take off. Hate it when he drives the work van...
...
He drives an auto now...

Possibly first or second owner is a bit a clutch rider...?

Same as my sister, she uses the clutch pedal as a foot rest. My nephew bought her last car off her and got hit with a £600 bill for a new clutch at just 40,000 miles.
Unfortunately my girlfriend bought her previous car off her so I hope she didn't half kill that one too while she had it.

Did it go into the garage with clutch problems? 9000 miles is ridiculous sounds like previous owner had used it as a cig lighter, you should at least see 100k with general driving and a lot more with safe driving.
I used to have a driver who wore 2 clutches out on my old van with in a year 5k apart which is why he's now an ex employee, the clutches came off blue

do you ride the clutch... how long did your previous vehicles clutch last?

if this is not your first car and all your previous cars lasted 100 000 plus, then no this is not good. Ask to see the old parts. If the flywheel is not machined for that fee theres something possibly dodgy going on.

describe what happened before you took the vehicle in and why.

9000 miles, I have done 6000 miles since I bought it.
I can not see it being the clutch as you have only dune 9k in a 2019 ...sounds like bull **** to me so take it some where else to be looked at ...

? where did you take it to be looked at VX ? ...

Take the car to your nearest A1 clutches and they will tell you if its gone or not...a full clutch from them for a corsa d is about 380 fitted with a 2 yr warranty...if you have a corsa e it should be the same price or there abouts

( There is no way a new clutch on a corsa costs 1500 fitted )

My corsa clutch has 160,000 miles on it. Still going strong. It must have been abused to fail so quick.

Years agobwhen I had an Orion (remember them? Ford Escort with a boot!) as a company car I went through 2 clutches in 40,000 miles (a years driving at the time) -- I was blamed of course so I kicked up a BIG fuss. When investigated properly it turned out the 1.6L petrol had the smaller 1.3L clutch plate fitted.
The correct replacment was still working perfectly 80,000 miles later when I left that employer.

So have the correct parts been fitted at the factory? If its possible that the "wrong" bits can be fitted?????
