Been to the tip to dump 2 big backs of leaves from the tree in the garden, still a few more leaves about the garden, couldn't be pestered putting the bins out on Thursday night for Friday collection, so Saturday emptied black bin in to the big black bags (The bags are from Lidl Heavy Duty black bags about 3 1/2 ft long, only 99p on the weekend specials), then emptied the blue bin to the bags, came away from tip with 2 gas bottles a 19kg propane still has gas in it and a small blue Calor 7kg I think, ready for I get round to make a gas bottle burner.
Is it still free for private household waste? Not been for a couple of years.

I was told never cut grass when its wet or been raining as you can rip the grass out by its roots.
Good powerful mower with a sharp blade is ok ;-) I've done plenty of lawns for people through the winter.

I suppose this might be an opportune moment to mention the heated steering wheel on my MokkaX? Works a treat as well.
Yep, great gadget. My dad has that on his Mokka SE.

Yes, but there is a sign that says Stockton Council has a charge, never been asked once were do I live, today I picked the gas bottles up from outside the cage, one of the blokes walked past, he looked at me and I just said " You ain't seen me right " he just smiled and said seen what.

Good weekend - Parkrun with the sprog each morning, the Sunday one he was dressed in full elf fancy dress because he's an idiot.

Jetwashed the patio with his help on Saturday afternoon. He was happy to draw some faces and do a few slabs then it got a bit boring.

The inflatable Christmas decoration hasn't been stolen yet. In completely unrelated news, does anyone want to buy an inflatable Christmas decoration?

Drove Astra down to the lads , out came the big torch.
I opened bonnet then fired up engine , i then gave it some throttle & a fountain of coolant showered up in the air all over the engine etc.
They gave me the torch whilst they revved the engine , saw the coolant spraying upwards but couldn’t quite see exactly where from it was spraying out.
The lads said did i see it , I said no i can’t see where exactly.
They pointed to the Top Heater Matrix hose & said it’s either a very small split or a hole towards end of hose that connects behind engine.
Luckily they could read the part number off the hose , but because it’s a specialist hose the parts supplier can’t deliver it till tomorrow as it’s an overnight order from the main warehouse ( not a part kept on the shelf )
The lads have seen this hose fail before on another Astra H 1.7 cdti.
Like they said ,” cars are strange things sometimes , we had it in on Friday servicing the car but it didn’t fail then “

Changed an ignition switch and steering wheel on my new insignia estate, think I’ve dropped one as I can see some new error codes

Not got car back.
Vauxhall is being slow in getting the part over to the lads , Vauxhall promised yesterday it would be a night order pick from the central parts warehouse.
The part was supposed to be here by 10 am & then the lads could get to work , but no.
Vauxhall now say the part isn’t kept on the shelf & the system must enter a parts request but that request doesn’t go straight to the main parts wharehouse it goes into an area where the dealers up & down the country check to see if they hold the part.
Well lo & behold a Vauxhall dealer in Stockport have the part but wait for it , they don’t use a courier.
So part was put into the post first thing this morning & is heading for Leicester to a dealer that does his own parts delivery through his own vans.
The lads have played merrily hell with the Vauxhall parts dept , told them the agreed 1 day turnaround was a complete joke & that they promised me the customer that my car would be back with me at lunchtime latest.
Waiting for Vauxhall’s response.

Vauxhall dealerships seem to hold very little stock these days, as I've found out from past experiences. Even an alarm sensor took two weeks to order in on the previous K. Maybe PSA have one centralised warehouse now for parts? A lot of the newer parts must be similar now. Certainly will be the the Astra L comes out.

In the big posh office at work today. Afternoon off work to go see my lad's first nativity play. Then early to bed tonight so I can get my Polling Station set up.
