The brother in law has just asked me what car he should have when he passes his driving test. He has got £2500 to spend on a car but he wants one that he can mod and will look good and one that is in a low insurance group.
What do you peeps think?
IMO the best route is to get the cheapest car to insure possible, regardless of what it is and how **** it is.
Then he can get his own insurance from day one instead of arsing about on his mums etc etc and the NCB going. Then in one or two years think about getting something good
Anything over group 3, will kill him. For the first year your best off driving a cheap heap, until you've got that first years ncb under your belt. Hell my first car was a shite 1.3 escort with the worst paintjob ever..
