That's correct. It's to protect the scheme from claims involving inexperienced drivers. Please give us a go when ou have the NCB though and we'll aim to beat your best alternative.
Seriously out there question, my current insurer has messed up (massively) after we were hit by another driver who sped off. details were handed over etc to insurer and a year later they admitted they dropped the ball and the offending car ended up being sold on and scrapped before they were able to see the car (yeah tell me about it) so guess what. screwed!!UPDATE: Best way to get a quote from Chris Knott
Its with the financial ombudsman now, it all started in Nov2015 and has been ongoing since with a premium thats gone from 440/yr to 1k/yr... then no other insurer really wants to know the details because all they see is "open claim" . Allianz seem to expect us to fund their co<k up and pay for their solicitor when theyve already admitted they messed up, and compensated us.... TWICE... Theyve messed up twice, had 2 lots of compensation and its still bloody open.Hi, it's for these sorts of queries it's good to have someone you can explain things to in person. Online forms won't allow you to provide detail. The claim normally has to be closed by the insurer. It may be that we can overcome it if you can provide a copy of their letter. Aside from that are you getting anywhere with them closing he claim?
