my son has a Renault trafic van ( its the vivaro alternative ) and he wishes to fit rear seats

there are only three bolt holes in the floor pan ,
the seats he has require 8 bolts is it a matter of drilling and tapping the floor pan to suit the seats

is it a DIY job we appreciate we need to drill into the cross members and not the floor pan

what distance does it need to be from the front seats

is there a template available where can we find instructions

what's the torque for the bolts for the seats and seat belts

what checks need doing after they are fitted

Hi greenbackchap, the manufacturers supply conversion info that shows you where you can and can’t drill, I’ll assume your in the UK so you’ll need minimum m16 fixings with nylock nuts and a large square washer underneath to spread the loading of the bolt. Once it’s installed get it MOT’d they will check the seats have been installed correctly. You don’t need to change the V5 but you do have to inform the insurance company you’ve added more seats!

You do have to send your V5 back to the DVLA informing them of the increased seating capacity even if you don't intend the seats being used. It says so on the V5. Same goes if you fit windows.
