Hey all,
This one is more of an overly-cautious question before I go messing with anything in the cab.
I have relatively recently bought a 2014 Vivaro. I'm loving it so far but it's ex-BT and whoever has been using it before has broken the dashboard USB socket. I went on eBay and found a nice aftermarket replacement that will swap the single USB port for two USB ports and a micro-USB-C port that just needs to be wired up to a live and neutral wire.
Thought this should be simple enough, so I popped out the small unit for the USB port to take a look at the wire for it. Part number: 93452333, image for reference:
I just wanted to check with all of yourselves, would I be at risk of throwing an error code if I just cut the wire to splice in the aftermarket USB port? After some quick googling, I have noticed that this USB port seems to interact with the radio.
I have just had it back out of the garage after a boost pipe split and broke an exhaust pressure sensor, so I'm hoping this explains the cautiousness!
Thanks in advance!
