Can anyone tell me how much of a job it is, to change timing end crank seal on this eng? The dealer is quoting £33 ish for the seal kit, which he said includes the housing. But it looks like a pressed steel cover, so that confuses me a bit. I was hoping that the timing cover would not need to come off completely, but when they mention a seal with housing, I'm beginning to wonder. Can this be done in situ, or does the eng need lowering? Is there any special procedure for removing the pulley? it looks to be something a little odd, or is it just the damper?

Many thanks

I can't claim to have ever changed one but TIS says drivetrain and suspension support only needs to come off if it has option V66 power take off,if it's standard it does look as though it can be done in situ once the aux belt is removed,
Are you sure they're not quoting on the rear seal (no 19)? see pic1
the crank pulley is a single bolt (pic2)and the seal is rotated in on to lugs (pic3)
