I have a 99 vectra 2.0L LS and going through 1 litre of oil every 3 weeks, it has done high millage at 134k.
Is this normal?
My mechanic said he done a steam test on it and no major leaks, alternatively suggest an overhaul on it but wasn't worth it.
Your advice would be very helpful.

That would of course depend on how many miles are being done in those 3 weeks - something the OP failed to mention.

Is there an oil patch under your car?

Have you checked your rocker cover gasket?

What engine?

It's a ecotec 2.0L 16v, i do 300 miles a week.

by under the boot do you mean up the back of the car above the exhaust pipe?

Ive got the same problem, didn't think anything of it though, I don't have a leak, theres no blue smoke and I only do about 200 miles a week.

The handbook says the engine can consume up to a litre of oil per 1000 miles. When was it last serviced / oil changed?
