hi all need some advice ive been told today my 2004 vectra 2.2 with 72000 miles has jumped a tooth the chain hasnt broke but the engines in a bad way its in a vx dealer ,whos to blame the service is up to date and vx fitted a new water pump 2000miles ago could they have done it or was it me some how hoping my warrenty may cover it there talking about a new engine is this right cheers

not sure if the warrany will cover it as i think the waterpump is belt driven on them and not run off the chain,it won't need a new engine just the cylinder head taking off,new valves and guide's,and refitting. any back street garage coud do it for a fraction of the cost vx will want.
