So, for those of you who haven't been to the VBOA Meet at Billing in the past, this is the biggest annual show in the UK of all things Vauxhall, Bedford and Opel - with a few Holdens, Chevrolets and GM related things dotted around too. The Show attracts attendees from all over the UK & Europe, and there is always a huge selection of members clubs with all ranges of Vauxhalls and others, from the oldest to the newest, domestic to commercial.

---------------------------------------------

Venue;

Billing Aquadrome, Crow Lane, Great Billing, Northampton, NN3 9DA.

Dates;

Friday July 15th, Saturday July 16th and Sunday July 17th 2016

-----------------------------------------------

As usual, VxON will be in attendance for both days of the show and also the Friday evening.

As has become customary, VxON will be providing towards some of the costs of the weekend by providing some barbecue food for you all for Saturday and Sunday, and we'll get hold of some soft drinks as well. The club also has a very large gazebo, closer almost to the size of a small marquee; so even if the weather turns, which hopefully it won't, we should be able to keep out of the weather pretty well.

Members are also encouraged to bring along their friends & family - we have had many members turn up with their children and even pets in the past and all attendees are very much welcomed!

Last year we ran a relatively successful Photo challenge with prizes for the top 3 scoring members/teams. Due to it being quite a good laugh and generally well received by the attendees, we intend to do the same again this year. So make sure you bring a camera with you - you could be in with a shot to win a prize!

Where possible, VxON intend to nominate a worthy car that attends with us for the VBOA Chairmans Cup award on the Sunday. There are always a large variety of cars entered from each of the clubs, and it allows the owners to really show off what they have - from Classic & Concours to Modified & Modern. All is appreciated, and if you have an interest in participating in this with your car on behalf of VxON, then let us know and come along!

We hope many of you can join us - old and new members are welcome, you're sure to have a good time!

------------------------------------------------

Pricing;
Pricing has been reviewed by Billing management and an increase ihas been applied for the first time in a few years, though this is still inclusive of a discount - Members who pre-book will benefit of a rally rate of £17 per vehicle per night for non electric pitches for the event dates as defined above. Therefore pre-booked participation on the event dates will cost £34 - a booking for a minimum of 2x nights will be required to benefit from this discount.
Pre-booked Members will also receive further benefits/offers as described below. All pitches are for one vehicle with a maximum of four occupants.
- For those camping on site, rally rates will apply to Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday inclusive. Any overstay may incur additional cost direct from Billing Aquadrome. Participants may arrange any extra nights (if desired) before and after these dates at normal park camping rates.
- Extra vehicles will be charged at a flat £10 for the duration of the event as described above.
- Pre-booked electric hook ups will be charged at an extra £6 per night but please note that very few of these are available on the designated show fields. Those members booking electric pitches for 1 night – due to the numbers available will have to vacate the pitch by 12 noon for arrivals at 2pm.
- For non pre-booked camping arrivals or for camping on days before and after the event as defined above, the normal park camping rate of £23 per vehicle per 24 hour period for non electric pitches and £29 with electric hook-up will apply.
- Day visitors will be charged £10 per day per vehicle and up to four people and do not have to pre-book.
- Billing will give VBOA club members a £5 per night discount on any static holiday home bookings for the event - a 7 night minimum booking applies.

Pre-Booking Benefits;
- Pre-booked attendees will be directed to a dedicated “fast track” entry lane and pick up their welcome pack/Billing passes at the gate house. The welcome pack will include a park map with the VBOA Club stand locations.
- Special Friday night meal deals, plus breakfast and other special offers at the Billing Visitor Centre.
- Those pre-booking leisure passes for the leisure complex will also benefit from a discounted rate.

Pre-Booking Process;

There are now two methods for Pre-Booking;

Call 01524 781453 and quote the VBOA booking code - ASTRA16

Alternatively, a new Online booking option has been set up for this year onwards - www.billingaquadrome.com - go to the 'Book Now' tab, and enter the VBOA Booking code - ASTRA16

This code should remain confidential for the benefit of all club members, if it is found that the code has been shared out beyond the attending members, the member/s responsible for the release of the information will be expelled from the Club immediately.

***Please Note - Last year there were issues where the online Booking system was not capable of handling Single night bookings for a period. If a Single night booking is required, it may be a better option to use the Telephone option. ***

All pitches must be pre-booked by 9th July 2016 (inclusive).
Bookings made on the 4th onwards will be at FULL tariff of £23 per night, per vehicle.

-----------------------------------------------

Other Site Information;
- Automated Flood Defence systems have been installed, and progressively improved since the Flooding of the site in 2012.

- Existing toilet and shower blocks will be inspected and repaired as necessary prior to the event. An extra portable unit will be brought in to service the Swans Field area. This will be 1 shower block and 1 toilet block. All will be open from 6am and serviced 24 hours. A new heating system has been installed and we are advised that hot water supplies are improved.
- Children's Play Areas have been checked and inspected and found to be compliant with current Health & Safety requirements.
- Entertainment will be available in the leisure venue on Saturday night.
- 24 hour security will be provided by the Billing on-site team plus a dedicated VBOA dog handler employed by the VBOA.
- An 11.00pm site curfew/excess noise rule will be applied to all Park visitors by Park security.
- Billing management will also attend the 9.00am VBOA & Club Rep briefing meetings on Saturday and Sunday morning to handle any complaints about facilities etc.

--------------------------------------------------

If you are interested in attending this event, please copy/paste the list below and add yourself, this helps us gauge number of attendees for when we do our shopping for the BBQ goods!

Thanks,
Dave & Alex

I'll be attending Friday-Sunday
Will be bringing a few mates in their cars too
Can you let us know an idea of how many Luke?

We need to know for our Public Insurances incase one of them decides to run a child over on the stand or gas someone in their tent. Ha

No worries, just update the list above when you get a better idea - ideally before the actual show weekend! :lol:

Swans field doesn't seem to be listed
This is often a problem with the booking for the show weekend, the site don't seem to be able to cope with having a show going on as well as public camping.

Don't worry too much about what they let you book - just turn up on our pitch same as last year and park there.
