I wonder if anyone can help. I have a 3 year old Vauxhall Vivaro van with a 2.0 litre diesel engine and 6 speed manual box.

The clutch has gone, and it appears that you cannot buy replacement clutches for vauxhall vans. I have so far spoken to 14 Vauxhall dealers who have all told me the same thing, they cannot supply a clutch.

My usual repair guys have told me that none of the quality aftermarket suppliers can supply a clutch.

So the question is, do you guys scrap your Vauxhall vans once they break down, or is there some special place to buy clutches from?

TIA

Basically I have rang numerous Vauxhall main dealerships in my area, who have all told me the same thing, the parts system wont allow them to quote for a clutch as they are listed as not available.

I have dispatches and a fiat scudo, and I thought they were identical. However having rang a number of garages that have changed clutches in previous vans for me, they have all declined to take the Vauxhall clutch change on, as they claim they cannot be 100% sure it is an identical clutch as Vauxhall claim they are unavailable.

Yep they say they have clutches. None of my usual garages want to fit them. They say that the usual parts suppliers they use have told them you can't get the correct clutch. They will fit them at my risk but will not guarantee they will work.

I have also called numerous garages that have been recommended to me. They are all like yep ,no probs we can do a clutch. I give them my vehicle reg. Half hour later they call back and say sorry we don't want to do the job.

Have a look around for a small local family run garage. Give them call and ask for a clutch to be fitted. You’ll find them alot better and far more helpful. There’s no way a three year old van won’t have availability for a replacement clutch. Even if they need to remove the part and check part number.
@Valer if the OP supplied their reg / vin could you check the part number for the clutch? cheers.

This isn't ideal suggestion, but if you look at it like this,,,,,

Assuming you did get the correct vauxhall clutch supplied and fitted from a main dealer, they will give 12 months warranty, possibly 24.

Get it supplied and fitted from one of the garages you have contacted, I'm sure it will last 12 months , therefore you aren't really in any worse of a situation regarding a warranty.

Your other option seems to be to leave it off the road for 12 months.

I know what I would do.
