I'd this the 2.0 lump ? If so it has a throttle body on the front as you say. Air intake and EGR intake go in. Try removing it and cleaning it first. Could be clogged with oil vapour and soot.

On the 1.9 there is no throttle body. Renault use a throttle body on the 2.2 lump also.

Is your van a 1.9 ?

The 2.2 has a throttle body so the 2.5 probably has as it's a bigger cc version of the same lump. If so it's at the front with the air intake and EGR valve.

Have you checked the multi plug under the fuse box ? This is the link from body wiring to ECU. This causes accelerator problems on the 1.9 where there is no response from the pedal for the first minute after starting. Was a blue plug , not sure If the plug is that colour on your year. Do a search on here for blue plug or check vivaro problems.

Can you do a continuity test from the blue plug to the pedal etc
