Hi Much Cleverer People Than Me,

I have an 08 Combo with the later Fiat 1.3L diesel engine. It goes like a train except (there's always an except) when I accelerate hard in second or third when, for example, pulling away from a roundabout or road junction.

Occasionally when doing so the engine fault light flashes on and the engine latches into some king of reduced power, limp-home mode. The light doesn't stay on and there is no fault logged by the EMS. I can reset the power by turning off the ignition for a few seconds, then it's ok until the next time it happens.

Any ideas? I thought it might be fuel starvation and changed the fuel filter which looked pretty horrible but it hasn't cured the problem.

Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Regards
Peter

There'll definitely be a fault code stored . What make of scanner are you using ?

Use a decent Vauxhall compatible scanner - a fault code WILL be stored because it is dropping into limp mode.
