Hi all

My car is running "o.k". Not great.

I have replaced the EGr valve as it has tended to kangaroo. This has improved things, but its not running as smooth as it used to.

Before I contemplate replacing the coil, I may use a fuel cleaner.

Question:

Anyone used them?
Are they any good?
Any noticeable difference or are they a waste of money?

Also, any damage inflicted by using them?

Many thanks

Joe

ive used stp and many others but the best 1 ive used is FORTE, you can get it of ebay for around £5, or if you can find a garage that sells it £15

The only one that works is STP complete system cleaner, comes in a silver bottle. Has a substance that actually works, unlike the others.
No substitute for needing injectors cleaning, but is the best fuel system treatment from a bottle anyway.

Thanks for the response guys,

Think I might give the STP (in the silver bottle) a go.

If this works it might negate the need to replace further items in the quest to get it running smoothly.

THe car I have is an Astra 1.6 16 V SXI. 2002 model.

Suddenly started stalling and kangarooing! Replaced the EGR, had full service (garage couldnt find anything) but it still feels rough.

May replace the coil. This seems to be recommended!
