Hi guys gonna install my kenwood headunit at the weekend also got 2 amps and a sub to go in the omega i was going to amp the original speakers but have noticed the standard amp behind the spare wheel does this have to be removed first ?????

Mmmmm, this could be "interesting"....

Before you do anything, try the replacement head unit and see if you get any sound.

May seem a weird suggestion but if you don't get any sound, the work is going to be a whole lot more complex.

I think you need to just check the headunit first.:)

I have the same ampliified system in my elite.
I wanted to install my Pioneer headunit but then found I had no sound!

After much head scratching and checking, the amp was found which explained the problem.
The input from the aftermarket unit is much higher so trips the amp.
Bypassing it is possible but not straightforward.
If that is necessary, Marks DTM Calib will be able to advise.

On the other hand, I know of someone else who was able to just "plug and play".
