Hi,

On the Parkers website it states that the 1.9 CDTI Design and SRI do 0-60 in 8.3 seconds, but is this with Sport Mode? Do all these cars have Sport Mode or is it an optional extra?

I did a test drive and it felt like the SRI was a bit quicker than the Design so is the 0-60 in 8.3 seconds correct for both?

Sport mode doesn't make it any quicker. All it does is change the map for the accelerator pedal to give the impression of quicker throttle response. Some cars it also stiffens the steering.

Basically when you put your foot flat to the floor you get full power but with sport mode you only need to have it approx halfway

There seems to be a lot of difference in acceleration of these CDTI's that I'm trying. One had an engine management light on - would that do something like disengage the turbo?

No it's in limp mode due to a DTC being logged , best avoid that car .

I bought one today. It's got a Sport Mode button so I assumed it had Sport Mode, but then when I press it there is no illumination light and nothing happened. Is this because it's an optional extra that hasn't been installed or should there be a way of me activating it? If not what do I need to do to get it?

No. I have a genuine Opcom so had a look at all the Programming and Variant configuration settings on mine and Sport Mode/Button is not listed so you wont be able to do it with Opcom, programming options are limited on the Astra J with Opcom, it looks like its only available via MDI

What actually is Sport Mode though, as in what physically do I need in terms of parts to set it up? Is it something electronic?

M32guy explained what sport mode is...spot on tbh, if your asking what it is or what parts to fit I suggest And highly recommend you not to attempt to buy parts to fit it to your car.

Bit arrogant don't you think. I'd like to know for informations sake. And we're all capable of learning.
