Can anyone advise me on the correct way to install new coil springs.I have been told that the greater the spacings between the coils goes uppermost. Other people tell me the smaller spacings between coils goes to uppermost. Mixed messages, can anybody out there advise.

Can you not just look at what is on your car and see which way up they go?

When I had my car the garage had fitted a new spring and being the experts they are had fitted it upside down. Didn't seem to make any difference when I fitted it correctly though.

the spring iv'e got are drivemaster and are slightly different to the ones on car. Coil spacings at each end are different. Don't know if the springs on car are original. Car is a 2009 and springs may have been changed in the past. Thanx

if you think about what a job do the springs do- jumping up and down- it really doesn't matter which way they are fitted as long as they are anchored properly.

found correct coil springs. There is a difference between the Astra with sports suspension and the Astra vxr. Found the correct ones at GSF carparts.
Thanx
