Can somebody point me in the right direction please.
I was trying to do a favour for a mate, putting a JVC headunit into a 97 Astra TD. Getting the old (original) unit out was no problem and although I'll need to get an aerial lead adaptor, the power/speaker plugs were the same. However when I plugged them into the JVC unit, all I got was a flashing display on the screen in the car and a flashing power button on the new unit?
Does the aerial need to be plugged in for it to work? Or do I need to bypass something on the cars loom?
Please be gentle with me as I'm a bit of a duffer when it comes to ICE instalation:rolleyes:

I think the JVC units have a fuse that can be switched to a different position. I have heard this may work.

The aerial shouldn't affect the power-on.

Make sure you have both switched (ign) and permanent power connected.

Try moving the fuse. Try swapping the two power feeds.

If you have the installation booklet, it should be fairly obvious.

Lastly, are you sure the indications are normal? It may be waiting for you to input something to bring it to life.
