CORSA POWER LOSS/FALTERING ACCELERATION IN LOW REVS

Hi everyone, I have a 2012 1.4 Petrol Corsa that has started having problems with loss of power.

It burbles/falters at the beginning of any acceleration (in any gear) until 1500-2000+ revs when it picks up and accelerates fairly smoothly thereafter.

This has been going on for a while and was accompanied by an Engine Warning light for the first 2 weeks which came on occasionally when going up steep hills, was then constant for about a week and suddenly disappeared - unfortunately the acceleration problem did not.

There don't appear to be any other issues, it starts fine and acceleration at a higher rpm appears ok.

I'd really appreciate any thoughts on what could be causing this and if it's a garage job or something I could try to fix myself.

Many thanks,

GF

Need to scan the car for a logged DTC ( fault code ) that will be stored in the ECU .

Agreed with Fred that a scan for fault codes will be needed. Does sound along the normal lines of spark plugs/coilpack.
