Hi,just got this printout giving the following error code:

P1694 glow duration present -004 control indicator circuit open

One site gave me this fault for the error code:

P1694 Turbo Charge Relief Circuit Malfunction

But looking in the vectra fault codes it gives:

P1694 Glow Time Telltale Circuit High Input C-25
P1694 Glow Time Telltale Circuit Open C-25

The lower one looking more of a match to what the printout says,anyone any ideas on this?

Its a 98 reg mk4 1.7td astra.

Just had new glo plugs fitted about 8-9months ago,so good chance its the relay then?

Fitted a new glo plug relay,EML light still coming on,and going off randomly

Im guessing that there must be a wiring fault,ie loose or frayed connection somewhere,have had a quick look but unable to see anything noticeable as yet

Not loosing any power,got a higher fuel consumption though which I am worried may affect emissions come MOT time next month!
Light seems to come and remains on for 10-15mns before going out for maybe 5-10mns.

Is your glow plug light coming on?

Glo plug light only comes on sometimes when I turn on ignition,but not while driving!

The reason I ask is that code translates to Glowplug warning lamp wiring, whatever that means. You seem to be on the right track looking for wiring faults IMO but I haven't a clue what your next steps should be, sorry.

Lol that makes 2 of us!!

Wondering if I should discon the battery for a while and see if the light comes back on or not,can't hurt to try(clock only takes 2mns to set again lol)

Was advised by a mech(he did say he wasn't an expert on dervs),that it more than likely would be gloplug relay,thats why I replaced the relay.

Knowing my luck the problem has been sorted by the relay and its the EGR acting up again lol.
