I was having overboost problems when I put my foot down, around 3000rpm the car would go in to limp mode and service vehicle soon would appear on the dash.
The garage told me I needed a new turbo, I wasn't going to part with my money so easily. After reading a thew things on the internet I replaced the boost control solenoid i checked all the hoses for splits I removed the egr valve and pipe to clean (they where covered in soot) i still was going in limp mode. I then removed the map sensor and cleaned that with some carb cleaner and since then it seems to be running fine I'm even getting better fuel consumption.

Thanks, a work colleague of mine has been having the same symptoms with his 2010 insignia, just sent this fix on to him to try out.
