We think the route is sorted, just need to make sure the Gardai are OK with it, it is going through 3 different Garda divisions. The run it is not a Rally or a Race so normal legal road speeds and laws will apply, it’s just a Pleasure/Fun Drive. All cars Must be road-legal. Most of the roads are minor roads, with some breathtaking scenery in places.

Assembly and registration at The Riverside Park Hotel From 9.30am. €10 per car & a starters trophy will be presented to the Driver of each car, This is payable on the morning or preferably before the event. The Hotel is on the Killarney side of Macroom town, across the road from the Cemetery. There will be Tea/Coffee & biscuits available before departure.

We will leave the Hotel at 11.00am SHARP and take the Millstreet road as far as Ceim, turn left there and over Mullaghanish into Ballyvourney (Rally legend Billy Coleman used this as a practice stage). We will travel through Ballyvourney/Ballymakeera Village and on to Reinaree and on to Inchigeela taking in a part of the “Cork 20 stage that Loeb said was one of the best Rally Stages in the World. From Inchigeela we continue on the South Lake Road to Ballingeary and on to Gougane Barra for Lunch at approximately 1.00pm in the Gougane Barra Hotel.

A 4 Coarse meal @ €25 per head, Kids €12, consisting of Veg Soup, Chicken or Salmon, Apple Crumble, Tea/Coffee. On leaving Gougane Barra at 2.30pm we head for Kealkill and on to Ballylickey. We will stop at Cronin's Service Station for 15 minutes for anyone that's in need of refuelling. On leaving there we continue onward and up through the Borlin Valley (another classic Rally stage) and out in Kilgarvan (home of the Healy-Rea family). From there we head onwards and up and over the Top of Coom (another classic Rally stage), on to Coolea, on to Ballyvourney/Ballymakeera and we arrive back at the Riverside Park Hotel, Macroom at approximately 5.00 pm. A total of approximately 150Km.

There will be a draw for a few goodies as well, included in the registration fee.

There is a little bit of fine tuning to be done yet but I would be grateful if those interested in doing the run would post here or contact me on 086 8214274 This is not a member only run, I hope to have allot of non-member cars as well, so if you have a friend with an old Opel or Vauxhall, bring them & their car along.

There will be live Music in the bar that night & a Residents Bar.

Now who is joining us?
