I have a 1987 2.5 V6 Omega.

It has started to develop the following fault. Sometimes when pulling away at low revs it misses for a few moments until the revs pick up and its then fine. When I mean low revs it does it for example if you slow down
for a speed bump, and pull away in 2nd gear with revs around 2500!

If I change down a gear, it doesn't do it. It ticks over at idle
fine and at all over times the engine is fine.

Now I have recently changed the head gaskets and cam belt but am 99%
certain that this was done fine as its the third time I have done this
on this engine type with no previous problems! And the symptoms didn't
appear immediately after I had carried out the work but taken two
to three weeks.

Also when changing the above I noticed someone had bust the vacuum
tank found on the dual ram tubing which I have replaced with a new
Vauxhall part.

Other than the above nothing else has changed or replaced.

Any ideas?

How wierd, mine's just started to do the same thing, a very slight misfire at 2-3000rpm when booting it. I think it might be (easiest fix first) the Plugs or the DIS Module.

But i imagine someone out there knows the answer for both of us!

If its only when you use a lot of throttle at low rpm, it is most likely a loss of spark, could be leads, plugs or dis. Try removing the plug leads and going mad with several layers of insulation tape around the bits that stick into the head and onto the plug, if the misfire goes away you need leads. If its the same try the plugs and then the dis coil pack.

It happens after you've done a big job because they get removed or moved around etc, and 100,000 miles old plug leads don’t like that.
