Hi, I'm near the point of starting the engine up for the first time after a full rebuild. I've had a few omega's over the years (all V6) and always used 10w40 oil as it says in the owners manual but when I look online and put in the car details it comes up with 0w40? Would it be recommended to use the lower viscosity oil? I know the first number is lower temp viscosity so I'm guessing it's similar to piss to start with.

Unless it's got severe issues with tolerances the thinner oil will do just fine. Gets round a little faster...no difference when at full temperature.

Eg. I use 0w20 in my Toyota/Lexus V6 (as the option to 5w20) and it's like sunflower cooking oil...all depends what you read.
