the engine managment light won't come on when i put the key in the ignition all the other lights come on oil,battery,etc but not the engine managment light,the engine turns over but wont fire up,
if i leave it for a while the managment light comes on and the engine will start up as normal?
does anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

it's the fuel pump relay.

Fitted in the drivers footwell on the later cars

you could try banging the plastic trim next to the right of the throttle with your foot and see if the light comes on LOL

it's knowing where to hit though.

A screw driver handle on the relay is the best.
